Probabilistic determination of seismic loads and prediction of earthquakes in northeastern region of India

Seismic loads are significant design factor in areas subject to earthquakes. The phenomenon of earthquake is such that design loads cannot be estimated straight away through a deterministic approach. Statistical approach to problem including prediction of earthquake is discussed.
