Abstract

The method for locating earthquake shocks, usually adopted, requires at least five different observatories and also the arrival time of seismic waves must be registered accurately.

An alternate method is, therefore, proposed based upon the tables of transit time difference of S and P waves, which requires only three results from three different observatories. Also the accuracy of registering the absolute arrival time of seismic waves has not much importance but only the relative time difference of arrival of primary and secondary waves is needed.
