Radiation balance of the earth-atmosphere systems from satellite radiation measurements
Satellite radiation measurements have given for the first time direct global measurements of the radiation balance of the earth atmosphere system. The values of albedo, outgoing long wave radiation and the radiation balance obtained from satellite measurements agree fairly well with ground based and airborne measurements but more extensive aircraft and balloon borne measurements are necessary to check the quality of the results, particularly the tropics.
