Thunderstorms and Sporadic E Layer Ionisation

Abstract

The paper describes the results of vertical P'-f recordings of ionospheric reflections carried out during the passage of thunderstorms over Ahmedabad. The thunderstorms were found to be accompanied by an increase in sporadic E ionisation as shown by a rise in the maximum frequency of the Ea or an increase in the intensity of reflection from Es.
