Harmonic analysis of the mean surface temperature of the northern hemisphere

Abstract

The mean surface temperatures of the northern hemisphere along the latitude circles for each 5° latitude from equator to 6O0 N have been subjected to harmonic analysis. The amplitudes and phases of the first 15 harmonics are given. The important seasonal changes from January to July are discussed.
