Abstract

Attempt has been made to develop maps for estimation of extreme wind and maximum mean hourly wind speed for different return periods north of 2OoN over India. The procedure for obtaining information about extreme winds has been made simple for the convenience of design engineers engaged in designing buildings and other engineering structures on which calculation of wind pressure, offered by extreme winds, is needed.
