Abstract

Daily normal, three day normals three-day moving normals, half-monthly and monthly means and extremes of monthly rainfall, frequency of raininess of each calendar date, mean intensity per rainy day frequencies of different 24 hour intensities, proportion of rain falling in different ranges of 24-hr intensities, frequency of wet and dry spells of different duration, heavy rain spells and their linkage with storms and depressions and annual variability were computed for Nagapattanam for the fifty years period 1901-1950.
