Prediction of date of establishment of southwest monsoon along the west coast of India

Factors which influence the dates of onset of southwest monsoon along the west coast of India are listed. Regression equations between the date of onset and the responsible factors were established for several stations. Forecasts based on the above formula were made and the possible dates of onset in the south and north of west coast were obtained.
