Theoretical considerations on the Melander Effect

Melander effect has been critically examined from the theoretical point of view, Heats of vaporisation of sodium chloride from its solutions as ions, have been calculated, The values obtained are too high to favour any appreciable escape of NaCl from the solution into the air.
