Abstract

In ordert o assess the seismic status of existing faults burried under thickalluvial deposits in the plains around Delhi, a tot al of 937 recorded shocks have been analysed. The spatial and temporal distibut ions of earthquakes and strain release pat terns have been discussed with reference1 the positions and trends of the existing fault pat tern s. The value of slope coefficient h was found to decrease before and increase just after the major events.
