Deactivation of the ice-forming Aerosols by chlorine

Abstract

Tests conducted with very large amounts of chlorine in-air (~1000 ppm) have shown that chlorine inhibits the nucleating activity of naturalice forming nuclei in the air by a factor of only about 5 at-150C, implying that it is no effective deactivator to be considered for possible use in weather modification studies.
